The “Intellectual Capital” Charitable Foundation provided financial support for the Ukrainian edition of the book “Populism. A Challenge for Ukraine” by Dutch philosopher Siebe Schaap.

Siebe Schaap is a multifaceted figure: a politician, lecturer in philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Charles University in Prague, and an expert in water management. He was educated in economics, sociology, and philosophy, defended a dissertation on neo-Marxism, and later devoted his research to topics such as totalitarianism, Nietzsche, populism, and the crises of modern democracy.

His books have been published in Kyiv multiple times and translated into Ukrainian and Russian, gaining wide readership.
The book “Populism. A Challenge for Ukraine” is not only political analysis but also a philosophical study of the nature of populism, its connection to European ideas, and the challenges it poses for young democracies, particularly Ukraine’s.
