The Charitable Foundation provided financial support for the project to create Ukraine’s first Vipassana meditation center — a space for meditation courses, the development of a culture of mindfulness, and the support of mental well-being.
The word Vipassana comes from the ancient Indian language Pali and means “to see reality as it is.” Vipassana is one of the oldest meditation techniques. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha in India more than 2,500 years ago as a universal means of overcoming suffering and as an art of living.
The Foundation provided charitable assistance to complete the construction and development of the center. The funds were allocated to landscaping and greening the grounds, creating pedestrian pathways, installing an outdoor lighting system, completing interior construction work, and purchasing the necessary equipment and supplies.
The Foundation’s support will help complete preparations for the center’s opening and create comfortable and safe conditions for meditation courses.
