Project description: Lectures are held twice a month in the format of thematic cycles, in cooperation with the Department of Philosophy of Odesa I. Mechnikov National University, the Odesa National Scientific Library, and the M. Hrushevsky Odesa Regional Library.

Highly qualified lecturers with academic degrees help participants develop critical thinking, cultivate a culture of intellectual dialogue, and improve their ability to comprehend complex ideas. The project contributes to the popularization of philosophical discourse and the creation of a thoughtful and active community.

“Architecture of the New World: Society, Education, Culture, Business” — under this title, KIEF launched a series of charitable intellectual meetings devoted to Ukraine. The first discussion took place in Barcelona, Spain, on June 23, 2022, with the support of the “Intellectual Capital” Charitable Foundation.

The aim of the creative evening was to foster the spiritual, cultural, and intellectual development of Ukraine. Participants included: Oleksandr Rodnyansky (Ukrainian film director, producer, founder of the “1+1” TV channel), Zhanna Kryuchkova (founder of the almanac “Huxley” in support of philosophy, art, and science), among others.

Today, the whole world is experiencing an era of radical change. One thing remains constant: every day leaders make countless decisions and face challenges they never imagined before. What worked yesterday may change in an instant. The pace is immediate, the stakes are high, yet those who can lead their teams to consistently achieve outstanding results are greatly rewarded. During the panel, together with large business owners and world-class artists, discussions focused on how important it is for leaders to stay in trend, keep track of global events, and transform themselves and their businesses.

The project’s author, Serhii Forkosh, analyzes the prison experience through the lens of phenomenology, addressing themes of space, time, isolation, power, language, corporeality, guilt, and repentance. The study is interdisciplinary in nature, combining philosophy, ethics, sociology, architecture, and literature.

In this study, Ukraine is considered as an autonomous cultural world with its own internal patterns that require deep understanding both in the national and international contexts. Special attention is given to the philosophical dialogue with the European tradition of thought, since the comprehension of Ukrainian identity is impossible without reflection on the philosophical idea of Europe.

One of the key directions of the project is philosophical European integration — through the involvement of leading foreign scholars in reflecting on the theme of “Ukraine” within the global intellectual space.

The project’s advisory group includes:
– Georg Stenger — Professor of Philosophy in a Global World at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Vienna; Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education at the University of Vienna; President of the Society for Intercultural Philosophy (Cologne, Germany).
– Professor Freizopi — Faculty of Philosophy, University of Freiburg (Germany).
– Other international philosophers who will be engaged as consultants.

The project also envisions the translation into Ukrainian of Georg Stenger’s fundamental work “Philosophie der Interkulturalität: Phänomenologie der interkulturellen Erfahrung” (2nd edition, 2020).

Project duration: 7–8 months.

The Foundation’s support is a contribution to the development of philosophical thought in Ukraine and the creation of a foundation for integrating Ukrainian culture into the global intellectual discourse.
