This is a unique publication that, since 2000, has preserved and promoted the living memory of Odesa—its history, culture, literature, humor, and, most importantly, its people. The almanac brings together authors from Ukraine and around the world, creating a shared cultural space for the global Odesa community.

The 99th issue holds special significance, as it precedes the юбилейный 100th edition, which is planned for Odesa City Day in 2026. For this reason, the current stage is an important part of the preparation for this landmark event—an issue that will symbolize the continuity of cultural tradition and a deep love for the city.

By supporting this project, the Foundation contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage, the development of the literary environment, and the strengthening of ties between generations of Odesa residents worldwide.

The Intellectual Capital Charitable Foundation has supported the creation of a documentary film dedicated to the figures of great Ukrainian composers – artists whose ideas and music have shaped Ukraine’s modern cultural identity.

The project, initiated by Oleg Kokhan and Sota Cinema Group, aims to reveal the unique creative world of these composers through interviews with them, their students, colleagues, and friends. The film seeks to showcase not only their innovative musical methods but also the inner world of the artists whose work resonates far beyond Ukraine.

The film is currently in the preparation stage.

The production is carried out by a professional team from Sota Cinema Group: producers Oleg Kokhan and Oleksii Makukhin, and cinematographer and director Oleksandr Zaporozhchenko.

After the start of the full-scale war, KSA was evacuated to Lviv, where it resumed the educational process and continues teaching students from all regions of Ukraine. Today, it offers bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as research projects aimed at restoring and rethinking urban space.

Goals and objectives of the School’s projects:

• training architects of change capable of working in challenging conditions of reconstruction;
• developing critical thinking and innovative approaches to architecture;
• integrating Ukrainian architectural education into the international context.

An important area of activity is scholarship support for students. Many of them come from families that lost their homes or jobs due to the war, and without financial assistance would not be able to study. The KSA scholarship fund enables talented young people to remain in Ukraine, receive quality education, and contribute to the country’s reconstruction.

KSA actively cooperates with Ukrainian and international partners, implements joint programs, and attracts resources for the development of scholarships, educational projects, equipment, and research.

The 6th All-Ukrainian Choral Festival-Competition in memory of Konstantin Pigrov has concluded in Odesa. This year, 40 ensembles from various cities of Ukraine took part in the event, and the final chord of the competition sounded on the stage of the Odesa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Requiem” was performed.

The general partner of the festival was the “Intellectual Capital” Charitable Foundation. Thanks to the Foundation’s support, all laureates of the competition received monetary awards, including the Grand Prix winners — an important contribution to the development of cultural initiatives and the encouragement of talented youth.

The Grand Prix was awarded to the choir of the Cherkasy Professional Music College named after Semen Hulak-Artemovsky, conducted by Nataliia Shmaraieva-Hozha. In the category “Senior Children’s Choirs,” the winner was the exemplary choir Adiamus of Odesa School of Arts No. 11, conducted by Mykola Okhrimchuk.

The laureates also included:
– the exemplary children’s choir “Zabava” of Odesa School of Arts No. 3 (conductor — Svitlana Smirnova);
– the chamber girls’ choir of the Kyiv State Music Lyceum named after Mykola Lysenko (conductor — Yuliia Puchko-Kolesnyk);
– the student choir “Sunny Stream” of the Mykolaiv Professional College of Music Art (conductor — Yurii Cherepukhin).
The competition became a true celebration for the entire city of Odesa.

“The Gates of Passions” is a monumental bronze composition, 3.8 meters high and weighing 2.5 tons, which will become a landmark entrance to the Greek Park in Odesa. The portal creates an optical illusion: from afar it looks like a leaf ornament, but up close it reveals volumetric human figures symbolizing the dynamics of passions.

The philosophical concept of the project is rooted in the ancient Greek understanding of passions as a combination of soulful desires and errors of reason. The “Gates” embody the life path with its trials and transformations — passing through them symbolizes spiritual enlightenment.

Project initiator — Mykhailo Reva, Honored Sculptor of Ukraine.
Project goal — to create a landmark art object that unites aesthetics and meaning, enriching spiritually everyone who interacts with it.
Target audience — residents and visitors of Odesa, tourists, philosophers, art connoisseurs, and all those who seek depth in form.

The drawings and a full-scale 3D model are already completed, and production at the factory is about to begin.
Implementation period — 12 months.

The “Intellectual Capital” Charitable Foundation supported the work of the creative workshop “BAGRIYstudio”, providing artists with the opportunity to purchase materials for their work — canvases, paints, brushes — to implement future art projects and create new works.

The studio was founded in Odesa by artist Leonid Bagriy. It unites a number of renowned and respected masters whose art is widely recognized in contemporary Ukraine.

Among them are Serhii Burda, Kateryna Biletina, Vasyl Yolokhov (Erm Wohol), Hlib Marderosyants, Artem Osypov, Svitlana Vol, Serhii Luchyshyn, Svitlana Hryhorieva, Mykyta Bagriy, and many others.

The artists create collective projects as well as work individually, regularly organizing exhibitions in Odesa, Lviv, Kyiv, Kaunas, Berlin, Rome, Palma de Mallorca, and other cities across Ukraine and abroad.

Mastery, an interest in contemporary trends in art, a spirit of experimentation, and high-level command of academic skills are the hallmarks of the artists who form the “BAGRIYstudio” collective.

Numerous landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and abstract compositions executed in various techniques continually emerge from their studios.

What makes the studio unique is that it brings together not only Odesa natives but also artists who once came to Odesa from other cities — Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Kherson, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi — enriching the studio with a diversity of painting schools and creative visions. This has shaped it into a vibrant and modern platform for exchanging experience and further developing Ukrainian art.

Today the collective is working on a large project titled “Pixel. Life in the Gap”, which has brought together, in addition to Ukrainian masters, artists from Spain, Armenia, and Lithuania — and soon the authors will present the results of their artistic practice.

The Foundation played an important role in this renewal by supporting reconstruction initiatives. The V. Vasylko Theater is not only a stage but also a spiritual platform where the Ukrainian word, tradition, and art resonate from generation to generation.

Work on the film lasted from 2019 to 2021. Initially, the project received a grant from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to produce a 45-minute film. The first version was completed in October 2019, but the creative team decided to continue the work independently, aiming for a deeper artistic and journalistic result.

After viewing the first version, Zhanna Kryuchkova, founder of Huxley.media, offered to provide financial support for the film, which made it possible to create a full-length version of the production.

The film was presented on July 16, 2021, at the National House of Cinema, on the birthday of Ada Rohovtseva — People’s Artist of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine, who became the symbol and heroine of the film.

Despite the pandemic and restrictions, the nationwide premiere was scheduled for early March 2022, to coincide with Volunteer Day, in the “Planeta Kino” cinema network. The film also sparked international interest — it was invited for screenings by diaspora organizations in Ireland and Canada.
